p6300005.JPGKara and I took advantage of the 100 degree weather in Denver to escape to the cooler moutain air via a motorcycle ride. Our trip began from our home in Littleton to Estes Park, through Rocky Mountain National Park (we stopped there for a sack lunch near the continental divide). Then we continued our trek to Grand Lake, southward to Winter Park, and onto Idaho Springs (where we then stopped for homemade gelato and chocolates). The final leg of our journey was the SH 103 towards Mt Evans. We did not, however, actually turn onto the Mt Evans highway, but continued toward Evergreen and eventually junctioned with highway 285, which took us back home. All-in-all, it was an 8 hour/275 mile trip. Fortunately my bike averaged 40+ mpg in fuel.
